หลังจากเปิดตัวซิงเกิ้ล “Strong”, “Loveher”, “Enjoy Your Life” ที่ได้การตอบรับเป็นอย่างดี ล่าสุด Romy หนึ่งในสมาชิก The xx เปิดตัวมิวสิกวิดีโอซิงเกิ้ลใหม่ “The Sea” ที่กำกับโดย Mollie Mills และร่วมแสดงโดย Vic Lentaigne ภรรยาของ Romy ที่ร่วมงานกันมาโดยตลอด
“The Sea” ใช้ทะเลเป็นตัวแทนในการอธิบายความสัมพันธ์ บางคนมองว่าทะเลเป็นสถานที่พักผ่อน เป็นสถานที่ๆ ได้หลีกหนีจากความวุ่นวาย ในขณะเดียวกันทะเลก็ยังเป็นที่ๆ ทำให้นึกถึงคนรักและภาพความทรงจำในอดีต ดังในท่อน “And I think of her whenever I look at the sea”
สำหรับแทร็ก “The Sea” จะอยู่ในอัลบั้มเต็มชุดแรกในชีวิตของ Romy อย่าง Mid Air ซึ่งได้สุดยอดโปรดิวเซอร์แห่งยุค Fred again.. และ Stuart Price มาร่วมงาน ได้นิยามคาแร็กเตอร์ของอัลบั้มนี้ว่า “emotional music to dance to” หรือเสียงดนตรีที่ทำให้ทุกคนบนแดนซ์ฟลอร์เป็นหนึ่งเดียวกัน
Mid Air ประกอบด้วยบทเพลง 11 แทร็ก ซึ่งมีเพลงที่ปล่อยออกมาก่อนหน้านี้อย่าง “Strong“, “Loveher“, “Enjoy Your Life” นอกเหนือจากจะเป็นอัลบั้มเดี่ยวชุดแรกในชีวิตของ Romy อัลบั้ม Mid Air ยังเป็นก้าวสำคัญในฐานะศิลปินเดี่ยว และเป็นผลงานที่นำเสนอตัวตนของเธอได้อย่างชัดเจนที่สุด
